Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Employee Relations (ER) Advisor to join our HR team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact, providing professional support on a variety of employment matters and contributing to the delivery of a high-performing and compliant workforce.

About the Role

As an ER Advisor, you will deliver expert guidance on people policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent and professional approach to employee relations. You will manage a range of ER cases, supporting line managers and employees on topics including attendance management, grievances, disciplinaries, probation, and performance management

.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional advisory service to line managers and employees on all employment matters.
  • Manage end-to-end ER cases, focusing on performance, grievances, attendance, and related projects.
  • Offer guidance on a wide range of issues, including disciplinary procedures, absence management, and performance improvement.
  • Liaise with employee representatives and recognised trade unions as required.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for line managers and employees regarding employment matters.
  • Collaborate with ER colleagues to ensure consistency and the adoption of best practices across the organisation.

  • Proven experience in providing ER advice and guidance.
  • Strong case management skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisation and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach to work.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Practical experience as an ER Advisor.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and ER procedures.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.

About the Location.

The role can be based in either Exeter or Plymouth and requires flexibility to travel across the South West region when needed.
